Mike Cherry, Principal of Denver Craftsmen, Llc, received an Associates Degree in Art at Colorado Mountain College in 1989, while apprenticing at Rolling Stone Art Studios in Steamboat Springs, where he learned sculptural welding, layout and design, as well as jewelry making and inlay techniques.
After transferring to University of Colorado at Boulder, where he studied History and Eastern Religion, Mike apprenticed with a master metal smith and stone setter. In 1992, Mike founded Full Spectrum Coating Systems in Boulder, a 16-person firm specializing in the finish trades, operating in Boulder's Mapleton Hill Historic District. In 1998, Mike relocated to Denver and began a construction company that grew into Denver Craftsmen.
Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and a breadth of experience to Denver Craftsmen. He's spent years cultivating relationships with the most experienced subcontractors in the metro Denver region. Having honed his skills as an artisan and jewelry maker, Mike also brings his keen sense of design and detail orientation to the creative work he does for Denver Craftsmen, including architectural renderings and finish specifications.
